🚨 BREAKING: Israel has declared a *state of emergency* as Iran prepares missile strikes. Defence Minister Israel Katz issued the declaration on Saturday 28th February 2026. Hospital patients are being moved underground, schools and workplaces are shutting down, public gatherings are banned, and flights across the region have been grounded.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports the country’s energy sector has already shifted into emergency mode — refineries are scaling back operations and natural gas infrastructure has been partially halted. This is happening NOW. Israel’s five-layer air defence system is once again on full alert:

During last year’s 12-Day War, Israeli sources claimed an 85% interception rate. Sounds impressive — until you do the math. That still means 15 out of every 100 hostile objects got through. And when you factor in that drones and lower-grade missiles were included in those stats, the real picture becomes far more concerning.
But beyond the missiles, there’s a bigger strategic story here. Israel is what I call a **glass cannon**. Small in size, with a total population roughly equal to Tehran alone. Its citizens are relatively wealthy, many hold dual passports, and are accustomed to a comfortable lifestyle — frequent trips to the US, holidays in Europe. They are not hardened to conflict the way people in Yemen, Lebanon, or Iran are.
That matters. Because the longer this conflict drags on, the worse it looks for Israel and the US. History tells us Israel prefers short, decisive wars — the 6-Day War, the 12-Day War. Expect both sides to be racing toward a ceasefire sooner rather than later if things escalate.
